Gender-based violence is a widespread problem affecting people of all genders, ages and nationalities. This violence can be physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, economic, and social.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one in three women worldwide has suffered physical or sexual violence in her lifetime. Bolivia has the second highest rate of sexual violence in Latin America. Seven out of ten women have been victims of sexual violence at some point in their lives, and only 0.04% have had a judicial resolution.
To tackle this problem, it is important to adopt a comprehensive approach that addresses its root causes. This includes promoting gender equality and challenging stereotypes. It also includes improving access to services for victims, such as shelters, hotlines and legal assistance. Education and awareness-raising are also key components in this fight.
Wellness and Support for Women Seeking Unity
BAMBU was born as a social tech venture and ended up becoming a community that fights against gender violence and collaborates in the communication of prevention campaigns. Its ultimate goal is to be able to reduce the number of cases of gender-based violence.
BAMBU's mission is to be a community that promotes safety through prevention and information service against situations of violence.
Within the next five years, they aim to become the most effective community in the fight against gender-based violence by providing accurate information and rapid support services to women in unsafe situations.
The project will be implemented first in Bolivia and then expanded throughout Latin America. To this end, it is essential to create a community of support for victims.
With a cause as alarming as it is necessary, InkuA decided to work with the Design and Digital Marketing departments, who offered their knowledge and expertise to take the foundation to the next level in terms of communication.
InkuA's contribution
The Digital Marketing department contributed from their area of expertise by preparing an in-depth report that studied BAMBU's presence in social networks. They listed the problems encountered and possible solutions to improve engagement in their networks.
On the other hand, the design team worked on an initial audit where several aspects were evaluated: logo and complementary elements, website and social networks. Once the report was presented, two brand redesign proposals were made, ranging from the isologotype to the color palette and suggested typographies and recommendations on how to apply the new identity on different media.
Why is this collaboration important?
The work of this group is closely related to the values we defend and promote at InkuA.
Prevention is the only way to stop violence before it happens. Social networks are the ideal scenario to spread this message and we need to make the most of them to achieve the goals we have set.
It is an honor to be able to work with these causes and help this community grow and reach those who need it.
