Marketing plan for the "Social Growth" project
Article by Maitane Barrutia

Social Grow is a startup specializing in cybersecurity and digital reputation, aiming to make social networks a safe, profitable, and productive experience. Through its interdisciplinary team, Social Grow protects client information, registers their brand, enhances their reputation, and builds digital presence. Moreover, it caters to the diverse needs of individuals and businesses by offering customizable packages.

In the selected  business segmentation, the offered plans are distributed as follows:

  • The Starter Plan is tailored for entrepreneurs, providing essential products to boost their brand and ensure comprehensive protection: intellectual property registration, cybersecurity, brand protection, optimization of social media profile, self-reputation monitoring, and content creation/updating.
  • The Consideration Plan targets small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), allowing them to expand to either Premium Marketing or Premium Information Security. These plans include four or five additional products focusing on achieving desired business development.
  • The Loyalty Plan is designed for larger companies, covering a wide range of products and their extensive application. Clients can benefit from protection for multiple brands, cybersecurity for unlimited sites, review management with content creation, press articles for all platforms, in addition to initial market positioning and cybersecurity products.

According to the conducted market study, three companies were analyzed as competitors: “Focus Consultancy’’ and “Ambition’’, two digital marketing consulting firms, and “Galmes Digital’’, a cybersecurity-focused company. Generally, all of them presented clear single-page websites showcasing their mission, offered products without detailing prices, and listed previous clients. Contact options included a chatbot for one, while the others provided contact numbers, addresses, and email addresses.

Furthermore, two of them maintained an informative blog, and their social media had weekly posts with followers ranging from one to two thousand.

Both marketing consultancies position themselves based on the benefits they offer, claiming to help clients "increase sales, retain customers, strategically position in their target market, and attract new leads." Conversely, the cybersecurity company focuses on the prestige and status associated with choosing their services, offering a symbol of quality and security.

To position Social Grow in the market, we propose a competitive strategy emphasizing its differentiation through the variety and quantity of products offered. It not only focuses on marketing but also combines it with the essential cybersecurity for every business. With innovation as the key, we provide clients with the possibility of reputation management through network creation, monitoring, and administration, coupled with cybersecurity protection. Thus, growth and cybersecurity merge into a single plan.

Consequently, an in-depth SWOT analysis was conducted, yielding the following insights:

  • Strengths: broad target audience, diverse product range, combined cybersecurity and digital reputation services in one package, leading to a more cost-effective solution in the market.
  • Opportunities: increasing demand for such products among individuals and businesses, easy plan accessibility for entities worldwide.
  • Weaknesses: Lack of detailed recognitions, certifications, and past work, indicating limited experience. Not having a clear indication of operational duration. Outdated social media presence. Website information is somewhat vague and repetitive, seemingly geared only towards businesses.
  • Threats: competing firms with longer operational histories and larger client bases, global competition, and similar pricing structures.

To enhance Social Grow's visibility, we recommend the following digital marketing strategies:

Generate engaging content on Social Grow's social media platforms, including informative posts and ads on Facebook and Instagram. Collaborate with other brands to increase visibility. Use Instagram stories for interactive engagement with the audience and gather feedback on desired content. Additionally, create posts regarding cybersecurity threats to generate interest.

Establish a Twitter account to share information, updates, and respond to comments from followers.

Update the LinkedIn profile to expand the network, build trust and credibility, and increase visibility.

Finally, to address weaknesses, Social Grow should differentiate the packs offered to individuals and those designed for businesses on its website. Emphasis should be placed on the added value of combining cybersecurity and digital reputation products, highlighting its uniqueness in the market.

To expand its customer base and foster loyalty, prominently feature a newsletter sign-up on the website, offering potential customers promotions on various packs. Additionally, consider utilizing telemarketing to establish a more personal connection with potential clients, informing them of limited-time promotions to introduce new plans offered by Social Grow.
